my dad's a cop, and the job is stressing. like you guys were saying earlier, some have their good and some have their bad. and some always have bad days, like they take their job way too seriously. i was once pulled over, i had on a dark grey t-shirt and my seatbelt is dark grey. i had the windows down and was doing the speed limit(i think it was a 35) and the cop pulls me over and chews me out for not wearing a seatbelt, i'm not a dick, i just tell him that my shirt was the same color and from that distance there's no way he coulda seen whether i had it on or not(i had the seatbelt on the whole time). needless to say this guy writes me a ticket and tells me to "slow it down". i called my dad, who tells me not to worry about dick cops and to know that not all are like that. some are a$$holes, some are as nice as can be. i'm always respectful to a cop, but some are very disrespectful back.

OK, the fun is gone! Don't have my car yet, but I feel like I already have a speeding ticket or something!!

But seriously, I have several friends who are police officers or state troopers and they are great. I have been stopped, but usually to say hi! And when my car gets here, they want a ride!!

Most cops are great. My brother in law is a cop. well now a detective. If I get caught doing 20 over or whatever I will most likely get out of it, not just because of my Brother in law, but I have clients that make up like half the police department in two of my major local cities I live and work at. Also my brother in law is great friends with the commisioner where I live. If I do something illegal like sell drugs to someone yes I should pay the price. But driving like 10 to 15 mph over the speed limit, give me a break.

I'm so serious! I agree with you and were here for friendly conversation. Not for over authoritive macho comments we already know. Just a simple friendly question for a simple friendly answer.

The Top 5 things not to say to an officer when they pull you over....

1.) Gee thanks sir, the other officer also gave me a warning.

2.)How fast was I going you ask? You are the one with the radar gun, dummy.

3.) Whatever you do, don't look in my trunk.

4.) Wow you must of been really going fast to catch up to me.

5.) Nice outfit, where are the rest of the Village People?

One more as told to me by a friend after she was stopped this morning -

As the officer asked for her DL and POI she said to him, "So, could you BE in a better mood or what!!" and he said "Excuse me?", and she repeated and he said, "Well, yes, so I will only give you a speeding ticket today!"

Classic! Her court date is in September

On another note I once had a police officer ask me if I had a Grenade in my pocket....
