Dave, in your opinion what do you think the ZL1'S "AVERAGE" pass will be with a mediocre driver?

You can almost never get real details from folks, like what the car actually weighs.....I doubt they even know. The tuner will lose all credibility if someone finds out it's more than a tune.....that's the only thing that gives me pause, that's a big risk to take.

Here's what I'd EXPECT to see from a DR/Drive Shaft HC stock:

Those last slips you posted look like very good expectations for those 2 changes. Realistic looking numbers for stock weight and power. I'd like to be at the track when you run. Both to see you hit that mark and see if I can get that bone stock 10. It's not looking like mother nature is going to cooperate this Saturday though.

At least you are keeping Goodyear in business.

I can see the ZL1 running somewhere in the 10.8s with no torque management intervention. The mph is there, we just can't 60' like the 'cats. Every time I've pulled a great 60' where the car hooks up well, et suffers. When comparing timeslips from not so great 60' times, it's clear that the car has 11.0 potential. I have no doubt that a capable lighter driver will go 10s stock. My money is on 17CamaroZl1 getting there first.
Thanks again for the vote of confidence buddy! I really appreciate it! I've still got my money on you though. I guess as long as one of us does it, we're both winners either way. Lol!

I totally agree on your analysis of the cat. I agree on the Z too, but find it interesting on your et suffering when you get a good 60. I've gotten some pretty decent ets for what I consider terrible 60s, but so far, my fastest passes have always been when I can hook and get a good 1.7 60.

I know I'm not the Dave you were asking, but I've watched others run on the same track as me a few times now and they're usually in the 11.4 to 11.6 range. The 3 guys I talked to and watched on those days, were still figuring out their cars, so I'd say that should be a good average for the A10 under those circumstances. Which the elevation and air can raise or lower those times too, so location and weather play a big roll in what you see. I've not seen an M6 in person yet, so I can't say on those.

That's been my average lately at London. I need to get back out west to BG where my last several passes of the summer were 11.1s.

Like the other Dave suggested, it will boil down to conditions, location, and driver experience. I think on average 11.2 - 11.4 is repeatedly achievable on a well prepped track with a competent driver. It takes a little practice but I think anyone can do it. My very first pass was an 11.4 with every nannie turned on. I think I may only have made 2 passes slower than that. I think the majority of my passes have been in the 11.2 range now, with a few more in the 11.1 zone with the good weather.

Well, Beech Bend cancelled their TNT again this weekend, the last of the season, but when you gotta know you gotta know, so my buddy and I headed to Alabama International Raceway on Sunday and had a blast. 3 hour drive, but that's racing.

This is my 2016 Hellcat

Raceweight about 4400#
Race tire/wheel setup
Aluminum DSS Drive Shaft
Rear Differential Brace (strength)

WOW - one pass looked like it coulda been a 10.4x....gonna review data logs to see why not based on the 60' compared to the 10.51. Very impressed with this car. These were shake down, once I get to know it a bit better I'm confident I can launch it even harder. I've got some video and what not I'll post up later, but for now here are the slips. The last one was a hot lap

Man, those are some real impressive times. Besides the drag wheel setup, what else did you remove to get it that light?

Really great times. Do you have any photos/videos of the run? I'd love to see the wheel combination.

I'd love to run a fast Hellcat but none have shown up at our track in St Louis when I'm there. I'll be close the the Demon next spring so maybe one of those will be at the track. My 10.30's would be pretty competitive for most I'd say, but 9's next year should be a Demonizer. Nice runs Speedy

Man 4400# is very heavy to me LOL. My Hellcat has the silly 200# sunroof in it, which I'd not have opted for, but I found this unit new on the lot and got a helluva deal so is what it is. My 2016 2SS weighs like 3900# with me in it. Race weight for my old R/T Orange Krush was 4100#. That's be another 3/10ths off give or take I reckon.

Most of the weight was in the stock tire/wheels. Race setup is what you guys call drag pack I think and is a Hoosier slick on a Weld forged aluminum wheel out back and a Racestar and M&H front runner up front. Beyond that just simple stuff that's quick to remove like the two 10" Harmon Kardon subs from the trunk, and typical crap. Nothing crazy at all, still had full washer bottle, etc. I think I spent 15 minutes on it honestly. Same setup I ran on Orange Krush so I could have a good comparo. Orange Krush was a M6 and I could run 10.80s in it, so my goal was to just beat that to know the upgrade was worth it haha, running 10.50s was kind of a surprise to be honest. At full weight with a DR this would likely convert to a 10.71 at 129ish.

I'm doubtful many, if any, Demon owners ever realize that 9.65 claim. They won't have a personal track prep expert to follow them around and wait for 40° air. There's enough going on in my Hellcat to turn of TC to do the burnout, then set it back to sport for the launch, turn on the data logger, hit the gopro remote, etc. The Demon has even more with the line lock, trans brake, etc. Will take lots of practice to get used to the process.
