Which LT headers with the Borla Atak catback?

So my CAI Inc. CAI is on its way, my borla atak catback will be here tomorrow....im thinking what you guys recommend for some LT Headers with this setup...i was looking at the borla 1 3/4" or the kooks headers. A couple questions, what is the difference between the sizes other than the obvious of some being larger in diameter. Second, do i need midpipes if I bought a catback? Also, will this void my warranty.

Thanks guys!

out of those 3, which would you recommend to pair up with a Borla Atak catback? im looking at the kooks 1 7/8 LT, will these throw a CEL? what else would i need to buy to have this kind of setup or does the LT connect directly to the catback?

for a V8

All 3 are solid...

ARH will probably cost little more, if that's an issue.

I do know Kooks and ARH will bolt right up w/ no issues.

Yes, ALL LT Headers will throw CEL.. so you should tune to go with it...

Well. They will all bolt up to an existing Cat back no problem....

As for the CEL..... that seems to be hit or miss. Killer74Z28 has ARH and I don't think he's thrown a code...

Tag Ur It has Stainless Works and he doesn't have a code.

I don't know anyone with Kooks but I know it's a good header...

I personally Love my ARH system. But I think you'd be happy with any of them...

right... I'm not sure what Tag and killer did but they were able to get rid of the CEL without a tune........

I know Tag was, and I'm pretty sure. Killer did too.... I can check.

The tune will set the ECM to make use of the better flow of the new headers.

Without the tune the computer tries to learn how to take advantage of the improved flow but can't quite get it right as the sensors in the exhaust are expecting a certain range of readings. The new headers are produce readings out side of the Stock range so the computer throws a code saying something is wrong.

The tune fixes that and corrects the computer so it can use the headers, CAI to their full potential with out a code.

Most people are a little nervous about a tune as it is can be one of those things that voids your power train warranty... meaning a dealer could refuse to repair your car if they see it has ever been tuned... FWIW...

Mlee is the guy to ask about Hand held tuners. Which in my opinion would be the best way to go for your setup.

Hope that explains it
