a questions i have for this, is there separate calibrations for these? Is it all the same for v6 ss, zl1? how does this interface with the cars safety systems. it appears that the hsa was added as software if the earlier ones didn't have it and the part numbers are the same. hopefully and i am going to assume there is a model specific calibration as i would assume the zl1 auto would be the best to have or assuming this feature will be left off of the z/28 one of those

Interesting. I wonder if this affects how the airbags are activated?

No effect. Airbags function off impact-sensors mounted behind the front bumper.

Also remember this is a factory GM part, same as 2013 auto Camaro, and 2010-2012 manual and auto Camaros. It will provide the all the same features and functionality as it does in those applications.

Finished mine just now and I'm much happier!!

Only thing that's a pain in the ass is the two rear screws that hold down the back of the console. Barely got them out but now I'm going to Harbor Freight to get this: http://www.harborfreight.com/8-piece...ver-92630.html so I can reinstall them tight.

I might have to try this. The biggest problem I have with HSA is being inconsistent when it activates. Most of the time I have my wheel turned so I can't see the indicator in the gauges that it activated. I never had an issue stalling as I'm responsive enough to feel the brakes being applied before RPMs dropping.

Can't tell if the inconsistency is because of the way I drive or the car itself. I don't always come to a complete stop, and I believe that is required for it to activate.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't buy a used one? Am I off base?

I wonder, is there room for both in the console, and would it be possible to leave the old, install the new, and have some sort of switch to switch from one to the other? (like an On/Off for HSA)
I wonder if the computer in the car would tolerate an on-the-fly change like that or if you'd be in CEL hell (or worse?). The switching would be easy enough if the computer didn't have an allergic reaction.
It could be tested by having the car running and unplugging the stock unit and see what happens, then plug it back in and see if the CEL's go away?
Who wants to try it?

Why would someone even want to do? It is counterproductive! The purpose is to remove it as it is not needed or wanted.

After engaging HSA then blipping the throttle to 4k+ rpm to reset the torque sensor (as mentioned in another HSA thread), I've found that the brakes actually release as they should, when the should. While I agree, for me, I'd rather have no HSA in the first place, occasionally my wife needs to drive my car for one reason or another. As she doesn't have much experience with a standard (we're working on it), I thought it would be cool to be able to switch the HSA back on for her now that it seems to be working correctly.
