Ideas on removing resonator to increase sound

Whats your ideas on removing the resonator on a 2010 SS camaro.

I went from running straight pipes to adding a 40 series Flowmaster original muffler and now my car is alot quieter. I was wondering if removing the resonator would be a good idea?

On a manual car? There are two little ones on the manual car, which do quiet it down a little, but you probably wouldn't hear a ton of difference by removing those, probably wouldn't be worth the cost. In an auto, yes, removing the huge resonator would be worth it.
If you wanted to go for louder and more power, you'll have to get some long tubes and high flow cats! You could also just go with some high flow replacement cats, which might get you there for some sound and some performance.

2 resonators?

I thought it went like this
engine > manifolds > 1st cat > 2nd cat > resonator > muffler

On each side, correct. Here is a stock manual exhaust compared to a Magnaflow Comp Series, you can see the two resonators after the stupid H-pipe, just before the two pipes split:

Oh ok I see what you mean. A resonator on each pipe.

Ya so basically I had this setup

engine > manifold > 1st cat > 2nd cat > resonator > straight pipe with no muffler

I changed it to

engine > manifold > 1st cat > 2nd cat > resonator > Flowmaster 40 series original

but it became much quieter

Do you think removing the resonator would be a good idea?

Do I need to replace the resonator with an x pipe or can I just have a straight pipe to fill the gap?

Removing the resonator won't make a huge sound difference and probably isn't worth the $$ to do it. You need a crossover in the system to aid in scavenging. Whether you use the stock H pipe or aftermarket X pipe is purely choice as there's really not a much of a difference between the two other than a slightly different sound.
