E85 Tune?

So I am interesting in switching to e85 for my SS but i am not sure if its completely worth it yet. I have some nearby e85 stations so it isn't that difficult to find. However, I have some questions I hope you guys can help me with.

1) How much rwhp gains should i expect? I've read between 15-20, is that accurate?

2) Is there a way to switch between 93 and e85 with a flip of a switch? (one of my friends with an evo has it done)

3) Where can I get the tune? (heard about the trifecta e85 tune) Will it erase my current tune I have done on the car? Or should I just go back to my original tuner and see if he can do it.

-thanks for the help

Unless your running high comp or forced induction, Don't waste your money. It is not worth it and will kill fuel milage.

Hey if you get that odb2 plug in sensor that works with torque.

You can watch your engine adjust its long term fuel trim.

Since e85 is at the gas pump here in Iowa. When I'm empty I put in 5 to 6 Gallons of e85 then 10 gallons of 89.

Should put you over 93 octane and save you 7 bucks.... city driving didn't really affect mileage. High way its reduced as expected because computer adds fuel.

I had the E85 tune in my Bumblebee for 2 weeks before Hurricane Sandy hit. After the storm, getting just regular gas was nearly impossible , forget about E85, so I switched the tune back to regular fuel.

If you are running E85 you cannot use regular (87,89,91,93) gas. You have to re-tune the car. I have the Trifecta tune so I am able to switch back and forth with my laptop.

My impressions after just 2 weeks of using E85. Your gas mileage will be about 5 mph less. My price of Sunoco 93 was $4.39 at the time and E85 was $2.99 (now its $3.39).
So at $2.99 I was saving over $1.30 a gallon on fill-ups ($25 per tank) and as my daily driver (car has over 79,000 miles), I fill up at least 2x a week. I couldn't feel a noticeable gain in torque, but with only 2 weeks of seat I wasnt surprised.

As the price of E85 and Super gets closer, then the savings don't add up and without the ability to use regular gas (like in Flex fuel vehicles), if I am in need of E85 and can't find a station, I am stuck!!!

So you are probably better off staying with your current set-up. Just get the regular Trifecta tune if you want to wake the car up. Send me a PM and I can let you know price and info on tune.

I made nearly the same power with less boost, which is a sign of the wonderful effects of E85!!

I initially made 736 RWHP / 642 LBFT SAE w/ a 4" pulley (15psi) on 91 octane. I then switched to a 4.5" pulley (13psi) and tuned on E85 and made 730 RWHP / 621 LBFT.

I still plan on running a 5" pulley to see how much lower I can power it down. I'll probably end up around 690 RWHP or so at approximately 11psi.

Well I'm still on the stock bottom end and the verdict is still out on the 6L80. I'll have to keep the power down until I address these issues among other things such as the gears, axles, drive shaft and more suspension parts. Plus I'll have additional belt wrap with the larger pulley and 600+ rwhp is plenty power for a daily driver.
