Magnaflow 16582 Competition Axle Back System Review
Alright, just through this baby on my car tonight, here are my thoughts:
First, the install: DO NOT do this with one person without a lift. I did it with 2 jackstands and a jack. It was intense haha. I had to take off the WHOLE exhaust (from the cats back) just to be able to take a sawzall and cut the pipes. I cut them exactly as per the instructions (13.75" on the passenger, 12.5" on the driver side) and these measurements worked beautifully with the exhaust. The tips were properly aligned and placed, everything reconnected well, and it went back together in a snap. As fit and finish goes, this axle back system is amazing. Fits like a champ Second, the product: MY LORD does this thing sound tone. It's very quiet on idle, but when you get on it, it sounds nice, throaty, tone, and crisp. It reminds me of the Borla S on the C5 Corvettes (if anyone has heard it). THIS IS HOW GM SHOULD'VE DONE THE FACTORY EXHAUST. There is absolutely NO drone from this, even when the AFM kicks in (if you can hear it kick in). I LOVE this exhaust. This is a great everyday sound for a daily driver that wants a little more oomph out of their exhaust. I highly recommend it. I've also got QTP cutouts on mine, so I can flip them open to be really loud or close them to be tone. Third, the vendor: Many props to Maryland Speed. They shipped it out on the 5th (the day I ordered it i think) and it got here today (the 10th) including a weekend. I think that's very quick. I got STEAL of a deal ($360ish) out the door, free shipping. GREAT company to deal with, and VERY helpful. Props! Pics and vids to follow tomorrow in the daylight! Edit: Pics Captain McFunk

The 16580 is the catback version. I'm planning on getting an xpipe where the resonator is in the future, which is why I didn't go with the plus the pipe is about $100. Hope this helps!

I love mine as well and the look of them, I also have been thinking of adding the QTP, been concerned about some of the writeups on power loss. Can you comment and can you do a sound chip?

I have the Competition axleback on mine as well, along with ARH longtubes and full exhaust. I love it. I have to ask though, with straight pipes why would you get cutouts?

Sorry I dont have the answer to that one...maybe on of the senior members will tune in..... :(
Captin McFunk who can I contact at Maryland Speed to get the same system for $360ish ??? That's an awesome price. I've been debating on the Axel back Borla Atak and the Magnaflow 16582...if that's the case I will take the magnaflow right now for that price 0_o

He has since moved to a Borla exhaust, with mufflers, at the request of ALL his neighbors, .
