PM etiquette?

If someone PMs you asking you about your setup and you take the time to reply back with a detailed description and links to other threads that will help out a great deal.......do you expect a reply back with a simple "thankyou" as a minimum? That way at least you know they got it and you didn't waste your time.

So what is the proper etiquette?

OH, and thanks in advance for the replies!

Yes, they should reply back with at least a thank you... but give them time some people may not be on here every day or may be traveling.

Send a message via AIM to WheelmanSS
I have like 8 PMs asking stupid questions in which the answers are clear as day and/or have been addressed in the same thread they got their question from.

Yea.... I just ignore those.

Call me 'part of the problem' I guess.

idk how it is on here, but in other forums with PM's it will tell you that you have "1 confirmed message and 1 unconfirmed message" or something like that. confirmed means that the person you sent the message to has read it, unconfirmed means that they have not read it. check your PM's and look for that message.

Because I'm a courteous person, I always send a thank you reply. Could be the person is reading the links, and will thank you after they process the info.....maybe.

Start a build thread with the relevant info and send them a link to it.

I always reply to questions that are asked about my car. Even if the answers are all over the board already. We are a community of enthusiasts. Everyone of us are here to inform and be informed. And a simple thank you is the least anyone can do.

What about my welcome? Is it not as good as someone else's welcome?

Oh, you mean, "You're Welcome?"

That makes much more sense...

I have done photo shopping for members before or given links to help them out and sometimes they never even check back and say thanks or anything. I guess that not everyone realizes that real people with real feelings post on these threads.

I told Bull to start a build thread as well. His car is an awesome build worthy of being in one place!
