2nd Gear Clunk
I have been researching the forums and I cant seem to find this issue Im encountering... I see other threads about the trans/snychros as well as the launch control but not what im experiencing below.
When I shift from 1st to 2nd at the higher RPM range (5k or above) I get a huge clunk into 2nd gear. Like the car is saying no I dont want to go into that gear but if I must I will. You need some force behind it to get into gear. There is no grinding issue, just a clunk. Normal conditions, slow speed and low rpm shifts are all fine. This morning when I had to take the car to work, I pulled out into traffic and got on it till the 5k range.. shift and clunk into 2nd. All other gears are fine... I first I thought it may be due to the hurst shifter since they are naturally hard to get into gear but it doesnt seem like it. Question is has anyone experience this before? Is this normal? I know these trans are loud. I dont think Im doing it but could maybe pulling the gear to much to the left cause the clunk? The clunk seems to be coming from underneath/rear rather than right at the stick. Any help would be great! thanks |

Sorry, today wasnt the first time btw. It happens everytime into 2nd at a higher RPM range. I was just giving an example.

I'm having the same issue even though I don't have the hurst shifter installed and would be interested in what the problem is.

im in the same vote here and iinstalled a hurst shifter be nice to know since we all seem to be discovering the same issue

first time i shift outta first it always makes a weird noise then everytime after is ok...strangness
