Really, is that confirmed?? I have to say the movie was bad A** and I liked how they fit the car into the movie, very nice.

OFFICIAL word from GM is 1st quarter of 09. Word on the street is last quarter 08...if everything goes off w/out a hitch. Don't be dissapointed if you're expecting 08 and it happens in the beginning of 09... Just making sure we're all on the same track.

but how do the quarters run? I know some places run their quarters starting in April, some start in Aug for the next year. I always had the understanding that the new models were always released in September in order to ensure a proper amount of product by the end of the year.

July-Aug-Sep is normally the first quarter of a business fiscal year. Most cars come up end of September since it's the end of summer and a good time to build up popularity by the time summer comes around.

If this is the case,

July-Aug-Sep
Oct-Nov-Dec
JAN-Feb-March
April-May-Jun

They might be shooting for September, but if one thing sets them back a week, they'll have to wait until January to bring the car out so that they don't lose out on the sales for the quarter. (If you bring something out midway through the season, even if you sell what you expected, the first time you take inventory, you've sold half of what you expected for that period since you came out late. If you're factoring in expenses you've only made half of what you wanted and are at a loss.)

Everything is about money and making a quota.

BTW, this is my take on it. I could be wrong but it's just an opinion.

okay, i havent read the entire thread yet... but it doesnt look like anyone has mentioned the fact that in the movie it isnt actually a camaro...
it was built from a gto frame and doesnt even have real rims..
they are hubcaps specially made to look like the new ones. ive seen a few people ask about the brake calipers, and the reason they arent ther is because of this.
