My dealer told me I could pre-order a V6 and that they thought they might be sold out of thier V8's. I asked him if they had sold out their allocation and never got an answer. I believe they are going to order some of their allocation for dealer stock to try and sell over MSRP. I got news for them, not to ME!!!!. IN fact I'm finding some 2007 Corvettes with low mileage for high 20's to low 30's.. Love the CAMARO but the vette is a better built car and still 400hp in the 2007. I may buy the Vette if I run across the right one, otherwise I will wait for a deal on the Camaro. I refuse to get caught up in the early hype and demand. That being said I wish all that have pre-ordered a positive experience and hope they love their cars.

I wish everyone the best of luck with their dealers. I just can't wait to get a big grin on my face when I go in to purchase a Camaro after a couple of years.

Well...i actually travel around all around the country...and my thing is...i go to every chevy dealer nearest to my hotel and check out if they have a showroom car in or if a ZR1 is present...and i also ask them thier camaro preorder deal they have at each place. Well...Illinois...is just stupid...dealer wanted 4k over msrp and then IL state has a 750 surcharge on top.

Worst place i've run into was in the state of Tennessee....dealer wanted 6500 over MSRP and 1k down.

Luckily my local dealer in NC is awesome...I'll pay MSRP...they dont even mark up thier vettes...only put 300 down and i have 5th slot...but thier were only 5 slots...so whatever lol. but i'll have the only camaro locally...the three others are from out of towns where the dealers there ran out of allocations...i'm talkin like 3 hours away. And of course the other car slot taken was the showroom car they ordered.

Anyways...If you guys drive by lexington, NC (Got a great barbecue festival...if you guys are into awesome southern food...I moved here from california and i fell in love with lexington style BBQ)...go stop by Davis Chevrolet off of BR-85 ask for Mike Ferrell.

Ordered 2SS/RS/ Black / Hurst (delay..bleh) / Hood and Hockey Stripe Package (hockey delete)...i'm hopin for september...i will rob oshawa by december

We've obviously got some good ones.

So if you hear of a dealer being grossly uninformed then feel free to hammer them here. Otherwise lets give em the benefit of the doubt.

I edited the following into the first post to clarify the intent of this thread...

My purpose for this thread was to see what dealers are starting to change now that production is almost upon us, NOT how they attempted to screw people over months ago.

Mine recently (like 2 weeks ago) told me that GM has "cut the legs out from under us by raising the invoice price. I'm getting $1,000 less profit now."

Sounded like BS to me!

Ouch! If you would even give any of my employees the opportunity to earn your business I am certain we could change you viewpoint or at the very least prevent you from stereotyping and lumping us ALL into one basket. I am a Father, Husband, Businessman who is trying to make an HONEST living for my family who both lives and works in his community. I am also very proud of what and who I work for.

My Dealer said MSRP and $1000 non refundable deposit. I am the 3rd in line of 3. 1st guy ordered a V6 and the second man and I ordered 2ss. I did however have to travel a way to find a dealer that would give me MSRP two others that I talked to wanted 5000 on top of MSRP hope they go broke.

My dealer may be trying to get out of honoring the intro price if the car arrives with a sticker above the current price. Will let you know. I had to send them the email us pre-orders got last month; they had no clue about it.

My dealer has been great! MSRP $500 down. I have the first car coming in and I think they are almost as excited as I.

Wow, if you are a Chevy dealer and you ask over MSRP on a high production car like a Camaro, customers will find a vacant lot IF they ever decide to come back.

I have watched this phenomena over and over again, the dealers never win.
