My car is now a 6 speed manual.

still a lot of work to do, I need to drill the firewall and install the clutch pedal, then change over the wiring, and re-install the dash/interior.
I doubt ill have it done tomorrow, but should be done by next weekend.

Not that bad. 8 wires from the trans to the ECM / Underhood fuse block, 3 long wires for the clutch to the ECM. Ill post schematics of any changes after its all together.
i will tell you that there is some wire cutting happening in the steering column, at the ecm, and in the transmission harness.

I was going to change out the harness with one from a stick car, but it must have had a different radio it in, because the speaker connections were different.
The worst part was getting the trans in place. I had to spin the trans about 30 degrees to get it to clear the transmission tunnel, push it into the clutch, then spin it straight. I seriously considered plucking the engine to get it in.

all of the drivetrain is done, i still need to finish the wiring up at the ecm/fusebox area, install and wire the clutch pedal, re-install the exhaust and dash/interior.
probably a few other things as well.

Car is nearly together, I only need connect in the new wiring to the ECM, fill with fluids and bleed the clutch hydraulics, and install the exhaust. It will finish up tomorrow, unless I run into wiring issues (depends upon accuracy of wiring diagrams in service manual).
If you aren't adding in a HUD, I don't think it would be necessary to remove the dash.
This job isn't all that hard to someone who has changed transmissions previously, but it is tedious and time consuming to make it all look factory top to bottom. so far I have about 35 hours into it, including the new rear axles, and HUD install.

Did you install a speed/one man bleeder for the clutch? Mine has been a life saver.

Don't you still have to hook it up to the slave cylinder? It's a pain to get to it.

The car is 2 feet in the air, getting to it is not a problem.

Unfortunately, the o-ring on the steel line going into the slave cylinder is tore and is leaking fluid.

I may be done for the day unless the hardware has something.

Not too much progress today, I was intending to finish but ran into a few problems. First, there was the issue with the torn o-ring, on the line going into the slave cylinder, then the bleeder screw is leaking under pressure. it doesn't seem to seal right, and has an odd wobble to it, as if the angle on the nose is not correct. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do about that. I didn't install the exhaust just incase I have to pull the trans to swap out the slave cylinder if I can not get it to stop leaking. I'm going to make a new bleeder screw at work, and put a speed bleeder in the end of it. I also ran into a problem with making the connections at the ECM. bottom line is I do not have connector wire terminals to add to the connector. since my car was an automatic, the module in the computer transmitted info to the ECU, but the M6 used sensor outputs into the ECM instead. those terminals are absent in my ECM connectors. I pulled out a bunch of terminals out of the spare harness I have, but none of the terminals match the connector and will not lock into it (I tried). I spent most of the day either driving around, or looking on the internet for stuff.
I'm going to scour the net until I find something. I tried to find a used connector on eBay, but didn't find anything. maybe I can find something in the junk yard or a destroyed car on craigslist.
Other than the connections and exhaust, pretty much all that is left is adding tranny fluid. hopefully I can find something before the weekend, otherwise ill be hitting up the junk yard.

If anyone knows of a place that has the ECM connectors or the wire terminals for an AC Delco E38 ECM let me know.

I picked up some new 8mm x 2mm o-rings and replaced the torn rings on the slave quick change line. i had to use a bore scope and a long set of needle nose pliars to pull and re-install the clip holding the line in, so i got lucky and did not have to pull the tranny to fix the leak. once the o-rings were replaced, it bled easily with a vacuum pump, and an offset 8mm wrench.

i got the terminals for the ECM connector (molex MX123 connector) and will wire it up finally this weekend. For the most part, all that is left is to reinstall the exhaust, and complet the wiring.
