Max boost on new heartbeat

Does anybody know what the max boost is for the 2.3 heartbeat? I'm not looking to go full boost.. but iv tried reading and finding info.. can't find any.. idk what is max for this blower.

Might pulley swap later on... way later on.. may not even have it touched. But just the knowledge is what im.wanting.. what psi? What's it produce out of the box?

The 2.3's published compressor map extends to 2.4 pressure ratio (20.6 psi at sea level). Doesn't mean that's a good idea. The 2.3's efficiency drops off pretty quick above 14.4 psi. I probably wouldn't exceed 18.7 psi while drag racing at sea level on a stock size motor. Road race, go up in altitude, or strap it to a larger motor and you'll need to drop the boost to keep the charge air temps reasonable.

Just as a side note if you bounce the map off of theoretical airflow numbers the 2.3 really needs to be on a larger motor to do it's best work. Sweet spot should be around a heads & cam 442 (I wish) at 13.8 psi on standard day. ~950 crank HP

Boost is all relative to what you have done to your engine. What it produces out of the box is going to depend on your headers, heads, exhaust etc.

You don't go by boost you go by blower speed!

Blower speed isn't quite the issue with the 2.3. Requires ~2-3k less RPM to move the same air with the 2.3.

blower speed is always the issue, that like saying your RPM's aren't a issue.

Let me put it another way...you're never going to get to extreme right side of the 2.3 blower chart with a stock-ish motor. The LSA is way too small.

I don't know how else I can explain it to you.

You should really look into your final compression ratio before going all out.

you work it out like this -
Final Compression Ratio = (Boost / 14.7) + 1) x CR

So 15psi would look like this:
15psi / 14.7 + 1 x 9.1 = 18.38:1

so 18.38:1 comp

Basically that's a lot of pressure on the cylinder walls and piston, and head gasket, head bolts, head.

The OP motor isn't stock

You don't have to explain it to me your post wasn't filled with all the info, the speed is always the factor, the HB won't exceed blower speed until you put it on a 427 cid of bigger engine or over spin it to get more psi.
My point is none of you have address this blower efficiency issues, just b/c it is the HB doesn't mean blower speed is exempt.
