I don't have a shiny sponsor title though, therefore I must not know what I'm talking about.

I vote for the Zaino products. Been using Zaino for years. Every time I try something else I end up going back. Use Z5 and then Z2. Go to http://www.zainostore.com/mm5/merchant.mvc.
Their towels are also great.

Good luck.

Price, ease of use, durability, results, etc all play different roles for each person.

Best advice I can give you is to read, read, and read some more - read here, read on other forums, read on dedicated detailing forums. You'll quickly realize (especially once you venture away from this board a little) that there are many quality options out there.

Pick one or two things to try. The good news is that if you stick to reputable, well reviewed brands, you're never going to get something totally useless. So even if its not what you end up thinking is the be all end all of products, its still going to be good enough to get you thru (or you can sell it on a forum and move onto the next product)

Part of the fun of the detailing hobby is trying new products, experimenting with new techniques, and exploring the options. I, along with many others here, have been doing this as a hobby and/or professionally for some time now and I'm constantly testing and evaluating not only my own products, but others. Its an ever evolving, ever changing marketplace.

To your actual question - thru research you'll gain a better understanding of what really contributes to clarity, shine, gloss - and its not so much your choice of wax as it is the steps leading up to it. The best finish will be achieved thru proper preparation including decontamination and correction - wax or sealant only serves to protect and enhance whats already there. If you don't invest in proper prep you might as well stick to basic over the counter cheap waxes as you'll never see the full potential of a higher end product.
Highlighted is what CD07 was pertaining to with his 3 word responses.

Waxes ONLY serve to protect and enhance the shine that's already there. Realistically, your car should pop BEFORE you apply any LSP. The differences in waxes are mostly longevity and look. Meguiars waxes are perfectly fine but they won't last as long as the better stuff. You get what you pay for. If Meguiars gave a beautiful shine, applied and removed with ease, and lasted for several months, it would cost you a LOT more than it does now. I have Meguiars ultimate wax and CG 50/50 and the 50/50 wins in ALL areas hands down, besides price. Seeing that i'll NEVER see the bottom of my 50/50 tin, unless I go into the detailing business, the $50 price tag isn't that bad.

No offense...but how the hell do I know what your talking about, or your experience on this subject with a response like that.

My friend is a pro detail and body guy. He buffed and polished last year, his shop uses 3m products. What ever wax he put on after the buff job made it really pop. Since then the waxes I have been using dont seem to have the same dramatic effect, so that's why I am asking. Maybe it could use a quick hand polish right now. Thanks for the replies guys!

This is how good it looked under lights about 2 months ago. Still looks great but it just don't seem to be as intense anymore. I hate to loose that and need him to work on the car again.

The shine is in the polish, not the wax or sealant. I like Menzerna polish with C Quartz LSP.
