Nightowl Kit

Anyone having problems with the car lights randomly turning on?

I've had this issue several times. I have the early version of the kit. I have spoken with Joe @ NightOwl about it. If you want to know what I leaned, PM me your phone number and a good time to call. It's fairly lengthy.

Short version:

You can set your switch under the hood to Off or Ignition Only mode. I have also noticed when I had the NightOwl app on my phone and ipod Touch and both were bouncing back and forth between the car and my home wifi would also increase the frequency of the issue. It is going into "idle default" mode, which you can set to off or other options, but this setting is what seems to not stick when subjected to the above.

The issue will happen every so many days, 49 sticks in my head, if you do not use the car or run the lighting system. I always turn mine off and unplug the Master during storage.

I drive my car often and use the lights. Pretty weird.

i recently had an issue with the switch to change from battery power to ignition power. i had some oil spill onto the switch and a few days later it started flickering the lights on and off randomly so i changed the switch and its working fine again.

I had an issue when my battery was low on voltage and they would flicker on and off. Not a problem since I put it on a tender though

Anyone know if we can change idle default color from blue? My area is full of cops and blue isnt allowed.

MAKE SURE MASTER IS PLUGGED IN AND MODULE YOU WANT O CONNECT TO IS POWERED ON.

open NightOwl app
Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the first screen that comes up
click settings
click modules
select the module you want to change
select device
click the color box on default color line
select new default color
click done
verify color has changed.
