Its the real deal. BB was in my Jobs parking garage during the filming here. I spoke with the set guy who pulled them in and out of the trucks as their was 2 of them.

Since the look has been covered numerous times I thought I'd chime in on the sound.

I don't want to ruin anyone's vision of movies/tv, but the sound of the car in the movie is more than likely fake. It's done every day in film and television production. They will record the real sound of the vehicles on the set and then add to that or maybe even replace it with other sounds. There are a number of reasons why this happens: too many other sounds on set (generators, other vehicles, etc) contaminating the recording of the car, wanting to give it a certain "voice", etc.

I do this every day at work, as I am a sound designer/mixer. We can give objects "voices" by manipulating their sounds or creating new sounds for them. If you pay attention to the vehicles in the Transformers movies you will notice that the Decepticons have a more "evil" sound than the Autobots. It's all part of telling the story.

I'm not saying that you can't get your Camaro to sound like the one in the films...just pointing out that more than likely it isn't the sound the Camaro made on the set.
