Sad News On a Saturday morning

There are rumors about 2 local dealers here being behind the 8-ball. They have lots of inventory and not much is selling. People are afraid to buy a GM vehicle with all the government intervention.

I know a fella who sells Fords and he says business has been ok despite everything. He was working for a B-P-GMC but sales were so bad last year they let him go. That B-P-GMC has very few new cars on the lot, they been pushing program cars.

When you read about things like this it goes from being a statistic on the news to hard reality... its someone's good neighbor, friend, established business... :(

Wow that sucks. Hopefully these guys get back on thier feet somewhere else as far as jobs.But im sure you will be able to get your Camaro somewhere else...Good Luck!

This is happening more and more - in the past three weeks, I know of 4 dealerships that I once called on as a District Manager -- one goes the whole way back to 1916 ---

I would assume you have an order number -- the dealer will need to tell the District Manager to divert to another store so that you may take delivery.

Such a sad story... Definitely puts things like our new Camaro orders in the back seat. Hope we start seeing a turnaround soon...:(

I know its tuff times.. Just really sad....They were like a part of my family for lack of a better term....

I have a small business and was trying very hard to get the cash for the downpayment it was the last day for the preorders and I was on my way with cash to place my order and someone else got there before I did. They only had one allocation (which I thought was weird at the time)

In a way it might have been better that someone else did get there before me because things took a turn for the worse with my business... Still trying to hold on. Just hoping for better days ahead.


I dont think this was GM shutting them down.... I think it was just the owner.. I could be wrong. But supposedly GM is coming to pick up the vehicles next week sometime.. :(

The salesman for my Camaro just e-mailed me to say he wanted to talk to me on Monday. I can think of three things he would want to talk about. 1. he wants to go over my order before it is submitted, 2. the dealership is closing or 3. they want to jack up the price to $5000 over MSRP which is what they are trying to sell the showroom V6 for. In two of those cases, I may have to contact CamaroScotty about getting one drop shipped to me.

you would have to get the OK from your dealer to get it drop shipped there too.

If the dealer closes, I would be back to square one and looking for another dealer anyway and if he tries to jack the price, I would be looking for another dealer anyway. Whoa, deja vu makes my head spin.
