Plasti Dip wheels / tailights

Got addicited to plasti dip this weekend. Started off just plasti dipping the bowties, then, you really like it so you want more you want more. But anyways, then my brother and I ordered some plasti dip smoke for the tail lights. I do not recommend that stuff at all. It was terrible. It just doesn't look that great. I also want to say that it was the first and second time trying the smoke, so it could've just been bad application but I used the regular black plasti dip (2 coats) and 2 coats of the gloss for the tail lights and they look 20x better. So heres a few pics. Let me know what you think!

They show through fine. I actually had a cop behind me yesterday and I was a little worried but he didn't pull me over. On my previous truck I had I had blacked out tail lights as well and had them for about a year and only got pulled over once (and not in my home town). Just told me to fix it.

Yikes I dunno about dipping the lights/side markers. Easy way to ask to get pulled over. I just got some smoked vinyl film for mine. Still lights up super bright and should be no issue with Johnny Law.

Mine still light up just fine, brighter than I thought they would. Still lights up brighter that some POS vehicles I see driving down the road.
