I taught my wife well

We leave soon on vacation and are driving her car (105K mile Prius) to the airport (2 hours). She decided tonight was a good night to wash the car so I wouldn't complain (she's driving due to my sciatica).

2nd time this year she's washed her own car. The other 10 months it's my job!

Still, she showed effort to keep me happy! Dirty windows suck on a trip. I've been known to pull over and wash the windshield because its dirty...

She get's a "A" for effort, good for her!!

I think me and my wife have a good running joke about washing the car.

Me: I'm going to wash the camaro you going to help?
Her: Yes, be right there, give me a minute

She shows up as I am drying it....

Me: What happened, thought you were going to help.
Her... select from one below
1. Mom called, took longer than expected
2. Work called (or I got paged from work)
3. I was finishing up folding the clothes
4. I was starting dinner, took a bit longer
5. I needed to call mom before she went out

I think I may be missing some of them, but it's always entertaining, as I will get the "I can help pull the car back in the garage". Then of course the next day she is telling her friends that she helped. But I don't mind, I enjoy it and she knows it.

My wife would roast in hell for a billion years before she'd lift a finger to clean a vehicle. Luckily, she's has OCD about cleaning everything else. I can't even make a sandwich without her behind me putting stuff away before I can use it, lol.

It's nice to get some help some times with the "man tasks." We ride a Polaris RZR for recreation in the summer, traveling all over the surrounding states, and about 1 time in 4 my wife will actually help with the wash up.

I couldn't agree more about dirty windows. If we're driving somewhere, especially for some scenery, then those windows gotta be clear or it'll drive me crazy - I've been know to stop and buy towels and cleaner!

Mine will occasionally vacuum out her van. She always has to tell me about it.

My wife washes her Pathfinder about 1:2 ratio of my Camaro and motorcycle. I do not complain though because it is a skimpy bikini. The same reason I bought a pool home. After 10 years the little things still matter.

LMAO... mine too.

But since she knows I hate car shows she does do all the setup for that stuff. I just wash, drive it there, park and she takes care of the rest while I go have a beer with the guys.

I've come to the conclusion that it's my job to (deep deep) clean the cars after she has "gently dirtied" them. I usually spend about 3-4 hours each car, each month to clean out the miscellaneous gum wrappers, crumbs, trash, clothes, and toys from her Cruze and my Silverado and detail them. As much as it gets under my skin that they are allowed to get that dirty I just have to grin and accept that she cleans the house, does the laundry, bathes the kids, runs the accounts, and generally is my secretary and memory. She does a lot more for me, but simply taking out the trash when you get out of the car would help me out a lot lol
