I'm not generally one to bash, but if that's the actual price that it absolutely ludicrous for what the car is. Chevy's just trying to cash in on the COPO name, and "Camaro History" here...

actually if you figure out the percentage difference from the orginal SS in 1969 vs the 1969 COPO price. The 89K is pretty damn close in todays market for 2012 LS3 SS vs 2012 COPO

1969 sport coupe Camaro = $2,7xx in 1969
1969 Hi Perf COPO Camaro = $7,0xx sticker price with the aluminum 427. Thats about 160% mark up in the SS price in 1969. Todays figures: 2012 1SS LS3 BASE = 31,980 X 2.60% = $83148 That value would increase considerably if you wanted to compare the 2SS RS cars.

Well I guess mathematically you are correct by todays inflation numbers... But still for that price, I could probably build 2 that would preform equally well... This is just a collectors piece, and a get rich scheme for GM at that price.

Does anyone know approximate HP figures for those engines? Maybe I'll get one to beef up my wife's mini-van.
