OK, I have been reading all the issues with the dealers and it makes me feel really good about mine now. here is some background info
My bluetooth would randomly drop out and I would be unable to answer a call. Took it to the dealer and "Service writer 1" stated that I needed to leave my phone with them for the day, REALLY? Leave my iphone 4 with all my info? NOT gonna happen. Went back two weeks later to my normal "service writer 2" and noticed "service writer 1" was no longer there. Explained what was going on with my bluetooth and told him the TSB #. "NO Problem" we will get right on it and new module was ordered after car was diagnosed. I asked what happened with "service writer 1" and he said that he was let go by not truely and completely investigating the customer complaints. So, from where I stand it may not be the "Dealership" but just the service writer and the owner of the Dealership may not be aware of what is really going on in the service dept. I may be in a unique situation as my family have been friends with the owners for a very long time. |

The PI flatly states that they should update the hardware. I was also told I would have to buy the new PDIM, which was wrong. It took a while but I finally got them to follow it. Hang in there. My dealer said they flashed a few, but they actually took my entire module out and put a new one in, a part number I gave them to order. Then they will program it. I pick the car up today. I didn't want to chance flashing and it not work.

The fact that I had PI0055B in hand was the only reason he knew/agreed to try and update the PDIM calibration, but there does not appear to be a calibration in TIS2WEB above 'DB' for hardware 'DB'. At least yet.

I guess the sw update process is behind the documentation process. Wonder why they can not get the newest sw update.

spectre, I left my name and phone number for them to call me on Monday and so far not a peep out of them. Is there a number for the dealer at large that I could call to get a hold of them. GUYS, this is a STRANGE one.....if you saw my last post about going to the dealer yesterday to visit a buddy (#744). ANYWAY, I brought the car in adn dropped if off this morning. I have to ask....do any of you have kids? ya know how when kids have been acting up and not BEHAVING will straighten up when you REALLY lay down the law, or they think or know they are about to get a whipping?? WELL I get in my car and turn it on, and the radio starts to play, and I back out of the garage....then I stop, put it park adn turn it off, open the door to reset everything. I put in my flash drive and start the car up. IT FINDS THE DRIVE!! and starts playing.....I can run thru all the modes and USB it there now!! I even go in and select RANDOM SHUFFLE......let play a little....trun off the car, took they keys out and open the door to reset everything, but left the flash drive in......let it set a few minutes. started up the car.....the system started up, found the USB, started playing WITHOUT REINDEXING and RETAINED the memory of the SHUFFLE!!! In two years it has NEVER EVER done that.....I have HW:CB SW:CC I think the car KEW she was in trouble and like my dog....HATES going to the VET!!! It didn't matter...she is going!!! lol I got to the dealer, they recieved the new PDIM and are installing it. I'll pick her up this afternoon. but didn't BREATHE A WORD about her straightening out.....they are installing the new part! lol

I had the same issues, everytime I will pull into the dealer for service it will work right and the advisor will look at me like I was crazy, but I took the documents from the post here and they changed the part anyways and now its working a lot better, but not 100% yet. so will see.

Before and after:
Moisture was in screen so it was replaced with door speakers as well. So far so good... Sounds clearer, and volume is actually loud at 20. I had to get up to 28 before. No crackling or popping so hopefully this is a fix! |
