Anyone autocrossing yet?

Looking to see who's autocrossing. Took my 2ss out for the first time and did much better than I thought. Had better times than many modified cars (miatas, gtis, subarus, 240s). Looking to see what others are using for tire pressures, suspension mods, etc.

I might go out this weekend to an autox. I was gonna just fill the tires to the max allowable pressure and let her rip.

Do you have any advice?

I hooked up with one of the instructors, this was a great help. He rode along with me on all but one run and coached me the whole way. This guy was very cool. I went there with 36 psi in all four tires cold they heated up to 40 in the front and 39 in the back. We added air in the front to 42 psi and went down in the back to 38 psi. This worked well. Try chalk or shoe polish on the sidewalls to see how far the sidewalls are rolling over. I found that the car will push pretty badly when coming into a corner too hot. But with the TC and SC off you can correct and drift these things like a champ. I knocked 9 secs off of my times from first to seventh run. Not bad for first time. By the way this beat many cars with full slicks and other suspension mods and was a hell of a lot of fun. Also found out after the first run that I could do the whole course in first gear 54 mph before hitting rev limiter. love this car!

Ive been running a few autoX's with mine. Big test will be Road Atlanta with chin motorsports in two weeks. Mods are turbo and BMR suspension parts as they come out.

I did an AutoX the weekend after MTI funfest. I ran with 40 up front and 36 in the rear. i think i'm going to try 40 all around next time. my next autox is this weekend! funny how EVERYONE wants to ride in the new camaros, so much for taking out the tire pump and styrofoam donut to save weight!

Just as any FYI. Make sure that you cover or remove your license plate when you go to track your car. Just think about why you should /wink /wink
