There is no on-board hard drive, so the car will figure what files on your usb are playable songs and you can cycle through them via radio or steering wheel controls. But yes, it will be played through the car stereo.

U can use a flash drive with music on it to play from the radio, but if you mean can you store music to a hard drive in the car and play from the radio... no can't do that.

Yeah, I was wondering if you could store MP3's on the USB and then play them through the car stereo.
I have a 16 gigabyte drive which can hold a staggering 4000 songs.

Thank's y'all answered my question!

What's neat about the USB port, is that it will pull the ID3-tag information from whatever song it's playing and display that info on your stereo's LCD screen.

It will also display this information for any mp3 player that is a "play-for-sure" device. I'm not entirely sure what that means yet, but basically it's not just compatible with iPod's. So you'll have to check with your mp3 manufacturer. I know I'll be checking mine...

"Plays-For-Sure" was a Microsoft effort to gain compatibility among non-iPod MP3 players. Many of the ones from other companys supported the technology. Also, Microsoft's Zune works just dandy. If you put songs on a USB stick, it will support both MP3s and WMAs.

There is a video from the JAX autoshow around here somewhere showing the interface with a Zune. FYI
