Edit: Here we go, now we have choices lol... Do I wanna go dumb, stupid and wild and go w/ a Z/28 suspension upgrade for $4k? Or do I wanna go with a cheaper $1500 worth of lesser suspension upgrades... I don't like hard choices ... Last edited by Bryant209; 02-09-2015 at 08:37 PM. |

The single best thing to start at the track is with a tire pyrometer, and learning to read the tires and temps. For parts for the car I would start with the 1LE set up. But no matter what you end up with you will need a pyrometer to determine tuning direction, and adjustments.
Here is some info to start. http://949racing.com/using-a-tire-py...49-Racing.aspx |

Aside from the pyrometer, which is a good suggestion and very helpful to learn to actually be a regular at the track, I think I kinda figured out how to start the setup... Eibach Sway bars (29 mm front 31.25 mm rears, much bigger than 1LE bars), ZL1 Toe Links, ZL1 Strut mount, 1LE rear shocks, 1LE front struts and BMR 1.0" along with a 1LE STB... how does that setup sound? It's basically the 1LE setup w/ the Eibach bars and BMR springs and obviously brake fluid, etc., I don't know how much GM would charge for the separate parts w/o the full kit tho |

Im not a big fan of Waterford unless taking it really easy and really skilled. Way too many hard things like walls and trees to hit there. I'd suggest Gingerman on a day when CGI is doing an HPDE day there. The CGI instructors are really helpfull. Very safe track. |

No, you would still use sway bars with coil overs, the only big benefit of coil overs is corner balancing and being able to adjust ride height while maintaining the shock travel.

okay i know wayyyy more now than i did asking the question im actually gonna take my questions to the suspension section nd work out my setups there... for now i think what i want is 1le struts/shocks, BMR 1" drop springs, 1LE 27 mm front sway bar, 32 mm BMR rear sway bar, 1LE STB and BMR reinforcement along with ZL1 toelinks and strut mounts, leaving the brakes and wheels out of it for now, how does that setup sound?
