What do guys think about battery replacement?
I was thinking Optima , but from what I have gathered/reviews , they are not what they used to be.
Thinking of a Durolast from the local parts house or a Duracell from Batteries plus. $150-$200 and they weigh around 45-50lbs Also , the Braille batteries are nice looking, $300 ish ,weighing in at around 10-12 lbs !! Is it good for a weekend car/holding charge long term as good? or really more of a racing thing that needs maintenance? My 2011 is about ready for one. Thoughts ? |

I've never had a issue with a optima battery. My next choice would be a interstate battery.

I bought a Die Hard AGM battery for the 2010. Wasn't a bad battery in it, just after 5 years I just wasn't sure and while the Die Hard was on a great sale at the time...
I had two optimas crap out on me early on my 4th gens. No more of those for me.

I never had a issue with my OEM battery, but I started to add a lot of light mods to it, so I upgraded anyways to this: Exide Edge FP-AGML4/94R, 54 pounds though, which I don't mind whatsoever, because of the location of it. I just don't trust to light weight batteries, but that's just me.

after 4 years with original I went with the interstate AGM.kinda pricy at $236.00 out the door but it has a 3 year free replacement and the warranty starts over if it does crap out early.

optima's QC has gone to crap over the later years. I got an interstate megatron plus in mine to replace my delco that was dying, and it's great

After running Interstate on my boat (2 years and still going strong) to just power my stereo it was a no brainer to put it in my car. Same price as the Optima and it handles all my lighting and stereo upgrades with no problems

Got my car in June of 2010 it's a 2011. Put up every winter for 6 months never been on a battery tender & never start the car at all in the winter. Live in Central N.Y. I called G M Wholesale up here Gave them my VIN number. Came back with the replacement battery. List cost $242 cost to me retail $170. And it is original equipment A C Delco w/vent tube. I will not put a sealed battery in there. Because the area is enclosed @ requires a vented battery.

I still have my original battery from when I bought the car new in June 2010. I store the car for 4 months without a tender and it fires right up in March with no issues. I'm pretty impressed with OEM battery and will most likely be going with the same.
