Billet aluminum center console??

How realistic would it be to fab up a complete center console replacement piece out of billet aluminum?

I'm only talking about the piece that surrounds the gear shifter and houses the auxiliary gauges.

And I'm not talking about something that just snaps over the plastic either.

How many hundreds of dollars would this cost? How difficult would it be to make this?

Could the auxiliary gauges, and 12v socket be integrated into the new piece?

Well measure your console and imagine a solid piece of aluminum that size. Then imagine the handling of that to load in a machining center ..... tooling...... hogging out everything that does not look like a console ....... ummm no.

For only 1 piece, you're looking at about $800-$1400. At least thats what I would quote at our machine shop.

Reverse engineer, set-up, program, tooling, material... all for just 1 part gets expensive. The lower the quantity, the higher $/part.
