My 2SS/RS came with body color, matching shark fin...

Paint it yourself! I painted mine to match my silver stripes, afternoon project, did not remove it from the car, simply taped it off, sprayed with adhesion promoter, primer, paint, and a few coats of clear. voila.

Correct. Starting with the 2012 MY, the RS package includes a painted shark fin.

We all know (or should) that 2012 "U.S." RS's get body colored shark fins. The OP is saying that his dealer is telling him that "Canadian" RS's didn't get this change. But then he says that he looked at several 2011 RS's, and they didn't have body colored shark fins. "U.S." 2011 RS's didn't have body colored shark fins either. I can't imagine why GM wouldn't make this change to "Canadian" RS"s also, but until someone with a 2012 "Canadian" RS posts and tells us whether they have a body colored shark fin, or not, I guess we really don't know.
