East or west...not a lot of difference for those of us in Texas so I'm sure I'll be at either location for 2011!

what sucks for me if it's on the west coast around the same time frame, my wife wouldn't be able to go cause she is a teacher, and you are talking a 3 day drive to california from the east coast than back, having west coast then east coast every other year is a good idea, but it still stinks for me lol

Reno/Tahoe?

The Reno Tahoe area is the middle point for the west for quite a few organized meets. Also there is 24 hr entertainment and as always the "other" attractions the area has to offer. It would be a day drive or less for anyone from AZ,NV,WA,OR,CO,UT,CA,and ID. "sorry,East CO, lower AZ and upper WA means a 15 + hr day" :(
The Hot August Nights classic car gathering has been doing it for 25 years this year, with an estimated 10,000 cars and an estimated 800,000 visitors to all the events combined over 10 days. In other words Reno can handle it.

The Reno/Tahoe area looks very nice and would be a nice compromise. What are the tracks in that area??

I've noticed recently that everything in Reno ( rooms, buffets, slots) runs about 60% of the same rates in Vegas.

It has some twisties while Vegas is out in the open flats.

A drive to Lake Tahoe would make the national news.

Charlotte Motor Speedway

I would say Lowes Motorspeedway and Drag Strip in Charlotte NC. This is a new dragstrip just opened and a large speedway to get all of the cars around. Maybe Hendricks can do somenthing for us since the are really big in the camaro..

I like the Reno or Vegas Idea because I know I could get my happy little butt there with no problem.
