I know some of you have shipped tires, any advice? 20" rear ones.

If its just tires I just print out a label, tape over it and around the sidewall, and ship it ups. That's how tire rack does it too. No need to wrap anything.

Sorry I don't know the cost. All my shipping is free.

. Prob whatever the tire weighs.

Shipped tires last year about 1500 miles, ~$35 a tire through fedex. Just dropped them off they did the rest.

I buy a roll of saran wrap and just wrap around the tire, then put a few bands of strapping tape over it in about 6 places, and also over the label. Protects the tires from getting scuffed up in shipping, and only costs a buck or 2.

Also, if shipping a pair of tires (or 4) I tape 2 of them together tightly. It's then considered one package and doesn't cost as much to ship as sending each one separately.

Here is what I recently did, ran around $140 via ups. Made it to his destination with no problems.

I shipped 2 275/40R20 Nitto 555R drag radials, $500 insurance, ground, Chicago to NY state, $96 for the pair. Just an fyi.

I had a box of heavy duty trash bags lying around, used 4 of them. Very thick plastic:
