Valet Mode

Does anyone know for certain what Valet Mode does. I set it when I leave it at the dealership but from what I can tell it only limits the use of the radio. I'm pretty sure it doesn't limit the cars performance. The car still lets me punch it.

I... I thought valet mode wasn't on the 16's. I thought it was rumored for the 17MY cars as a feature that would limit the power of the car for teen drivers, etc.

That's teen driving mode, not Valet mode. From what I've seen, it just turns off the infotainment system. It may do more, but I'm not sure.

Think the 16's will get a software update to include teen driving mode?

It probably will not let you adjust the different driver mode settings in the My Link screen and any other settings that are in there. Still can change the driver modes obviously on the button on the console...so not really sure how valuable the Valet Mode is.

I am wondering how it locks the glove box? Isn't it a manual lock cylinder?

I wish it did cut down power, I already had to take my SS to the dealership for some work, and I could tell they had a good time test driving by the amount of carbon deposit left on the exhaust tips. Bad thing about it, they replaced one of the axillary radiators. That doesn't need test driving!

Agreed. Wish it was more of a engine limiter. Useless for me.

The 1990 Corvette ZR1 came with two separately programmed keys. One gave you 300 hp. The other gave you the full 375 horses.

Wish they still did that with the Corvette and Camaro.
