Oil leak
Reaching out to the forum to get information about an oil leak I have on my 2014 ZL1; it has 23,067 miles. I found it doing a oil change this week. I have an appointment with the dealership on Monday and put dye in the oil to trace. It's just to the left of the OD pulley.

that appears to be the junction of the oil pan and timing cover. There is one blurp of RTV there that must not be doing the job. The crank seal could possibly be leaking also.

Unless he wiped the one coolant line before the pic was taken I don't buy the timing chain cover or oil pan. It would be interesting to see behind the compressor.

I'd also get a mirror around the AC unit and check to see if there is any 'AC' oil leaking out of the seals on the compressor.
You may want to clean the line and verify it doesn't have any 'pin holes' or 'cracks' just to be certain -- Some brake-kleen would help clean the area and you could see where it leads... -Don

it could also be refrigerant/compressor oil. Just brainstorming possibilities

Thank you to all for your inputs on what the issue could be. Hopefully the dealership will warranty it but I understand if the mods negate it. My mods are a 10% OD, shorty headers, ID 850 injectors, CAI and a tune.

Update:
The tech working on my car thinks the leak is coming from the front crankshaft seal or it's the timing chain cover that is leaking. They are pulling the crankshaft pulley to inspect further. |

Update #2
The leak is indeed coming from the front crankshaft seal. The dealership won't repair due to it being an aftermarket pulley and they don't have the correct puller. Has anyone else had this issue with the ATI balancer, 10% OD pulley and a tune? Could a pulley swap cause this issue? |
