Car Washing

My car sits in the shop and gets driven around thirty miles a month so mostly its just a california car duster but every couple months it gets a good cleaning.

I use a microfiber long handled brush from wallyworld with Turtle Wax car wash soap. As soon as its rinsed off into the shop the car goes and then it gets a light coat of Turtle Wax Wash and Dry Carnuba spray. Dries quicker with no water spots and i love carnuba for wax over anything else i've used. Actually it needs water to work and instead of two towels i usually only need one to dry it all. Love the smell too.

I'm old school so after its dry all the rubber and plastic get a good coat of furniture polish to keep them in good shape. Love that lemony smell too.

Thanks for all of the tips and I figured there would be a section just for car care alone just so i don't go nuts looking, Is there anything I should be careful about the Rally Stripes?

I personally use meguiars ultimate wash and wax anywhere if car is dirty. if its dusty a bit i go with ultimate quick detailer and use separate rags.

if i don't want to bother or it got dirty to a point I am not comfortable using wash and wax product i just go to a car wash and let them use my wash mitt and drying with air followed by microfiber towel.

I pay 1.5 BD which is equivalent 4$ for a guy to hand wax my car after the wash using either meguiars ultimate gold glass wax or meguiars mirror bright wax. its a 30 minutes job approx

The most important advice I can give you is NEVER wash your car in direct sunlight or while the paint or those stripes are hot. Pull it into the center of the garage and wash and dry it there.. Mat stripes are difficult sometimes.
Read your product codes, some forwarn you about using on mat stripes. Same concern about products with amonia for windows and use only microfiber on all paint, tinted windows with film, chrome, mylar chrome like bezels. Do not use any brake dust acid removers on rims or let any auto washes use that stuff. Clean your rims every week or every time you drive it (lol) with regular soap (use a different bucket and rag of course) and you should be okay .
I have at least six different soaps and ten different brands and grades of waxes for hand and buffing waxes on my shelf at anytime. It depends on what I think the paint needs and the level of dirt and the temperature dictates which one I use. Meguires, Mothers, Adams, Zaino, Griots,.....
These soaps and waxes all have dyes and colors in them and the yellow car will take on a tint believe it or not of whatever your using, especially if your car has a good wax on it.

Well, when I see that the car is dirty, then I wash it. However, for example in winter, I rarely wash my car myself, and at this time of year I regularly turn to car washes.

I would advise fleet pressure washing; however, given how careful you need to be with the Camaro, I think you need to gently wash your car so as not to damage the paint on it. However, I have some vehicles that I can send with great pleasure to the local fleet pressure washing service, where specialists work very carefully when washing the car in this way.
