yeah, look up LS2 BRZ. 450+ HP in a sub 3000lb car. Have your cake and eat it too. The BRZ/FRS is a great looking and cornering drivers car but it has a gutless motor. A V6 Mustang will beat it on any dragstrip or road course for crying out loud. Why they didn't put the WRX motor in the car I have no idea.

Because they were built in conjunction. And FYI, it would be the other way around. The engine is a Subaru Boxer in both cars.

Toyota owns a part of Subaru. Toyota went to Subaru and told them to make a small sports car happen, and they did. |

Subaru's weren't strickly AWD until around 1996 (although I think this is their first factory RWD) and same with the turbos, and you have always been able to get non-turbo Subbies. It would be nice to see them release a turbo version. Even a bump to about 275HP would make for a killer little car.

I traded my 2010 2LT/RS for a BRZ. The handling difference is night and day. The 86/FR-S/BRZ isn't a "straight line" fast car, it's a driver's car.

Lol I'd rather have my FRS than a V6 Camaro. It's almost as much fun as the SS at times.

I had a FRS before I got my 1LE. Nice handling car with a great feel to it. That being said it was lacking power and especially torque. I have no regrets getting rid of it. I never had any issues with mine but a bunch of the early adopters did. It'd be a truly great car with about 150 more HP.

I test drove both of these cars (one auto, one manual) before I bought my V6 Camaro. While they handled admirably the Camaro felt more substantial and "special" IMO.
They drove remarkably like my mom's S2000, probably the closest things to the perfect handling of an S2K that I've ever drove. I test drove over 10 cars, my final choices ended up being Subaru WRX vs Camaro V6. Rest is history. BRZ/FR-S are really nice cars though, when they put the new 2.0L turbo engine from the WRX in it it's gonna be awesome (and overpriced unfortunately).

I had a tC before I got my Camaro and actually looked into getting a FRS. I liked the styling of them, but after driving my friend's I just wasn't impressed. I felt like I was in my Gf's Celica she used to have.

Co-worker of mine just bought a red BRZ a couple of days ago. Said by far it's the funnest car to drive that he has owned.
