2010 SS Major Issues

Hello all, so I was driving on the freeway and my car started off with a service stabilitrak light. This has came on a few times over the last few weeks but then all hell broke loose. Idle is weird, gauges acting up moving up and down, AC won't blow cold, transmission keeps clicking and not showing a gear on the screen, every warning light imaginable, low power, reverse lights stuck on in drive etc. Where to begin here...

Yeah that seems to be a substantial collapse of all systems. The place to start would be the codes... both engine and trans codes.

I would also get your battery tested at your local auto parts store. I know Corvettes are infamous for everything going 'wacky' like you've described when the battery starts to or goes bad. The battery will have enough charge to start, but every (warning) light will go off, other electrical issues will occur and the car will run like you know what.

Yes, battery.

I bought a new Delco last year for my 2011.

Oops I see you have a 2015. Should be under warranty.

Battery

Battery or Battery Cables. Had this happen on both my Cruze (bad ground cable) and on my Sierra (bad positive cable). Usually the crimps go bad.

Crapped out computer is my guess. Any lighting storms around the time you started having problems? Parked under power lines lately?

Most likely an electrical issue- ground, cables, loose connection, etc or maybe the BCM is going out(hopefully not)

Check your spark plug wires as well! My 2014 GMC Sierra had a plug come off and stable track lit and truck started acting crazy. They thought it was the head. Fixed it. I was driving same thing happened again. I pulled off aside and. He led it. Found spark plug wire was disconnected. Plugged it back. Good ever since

Very well could be the battery. I began getting the stabilitrak light on startups this last spring on my 2010 then checked the forums and saw it was common indicator the battery was going bad. I replaced it before it got any worse. Being that you have a '10, it may still have the original battery... they last a while. Maybe have that tested first?

Hey guys, the wiring harness is melted from the headers, but it's been like that for years, could have finally crapped out I guess. My guess was ground or battery/alternator. I live on the beach In Southern California so lightning storms are non existent. It's at my dealer being diagnosed and my service writer is my friend and neighbor so whatever it is it will get done

My first thought was electrical as well, pretty much the only way you're going to have that many issues across the board unless you're really unlucky and break a bunch of stuff at once(and by unlucky I mean don't go outside the next time there's lightning).

Test the battery and then go from there.

I'm still using factory battery. Although only 31k miles. Starts like a champ never has to boost it or charge it.
