This is why I'm SnowVert

Let the blasting begin... I've never been a strong believer in garaging a car for any reason. These are not guarenteed collector cars and I figure I'm going to drive it as much as possible to enjoy it every chance I get.

With that being said, I decided that I wanted to see just how bad the P Zero's are with snow before I ran out and invested in snow tires... They weren't kidding when they said "summer only." I made it home and it was driveable, but very difficult to handle. I was only safe up to about 20mph which made the commute home from work a long one that night. I thought I might as well share my thoughts with you guys in case someone else got the crazy idea to try driving an SS in the snow without snow tires...

And I do have proof. Feel free to yell at me regarding my treatment of this car, I freely take all blame for doing something a horrible as enjoying my car

I had one car that I garaged..I hated every minute I had to go by it on the way to the winter car. I couldn't agree more. Drive that car year round....but only with snow tires in the winter.

I concur. Drive it & enjoy the heck out of that permagrin maker. But do use the snow tires in winter!

My car is heading into it's 3rd winter. I did not pay all that money for my 2SS RS to sit around and do nothing.

Until you find out for yourself how poor the traction is when these tires are cold you find it hard to believe. After experiencing it you become skittish about driving on them if it's even close to being cold. Yet people will swear they raced the Iditarod on these tires with no problems. They must be better drivers than me.

Amen - grew up in upstate NY and live in NC now - so don't miss the winters. If it snows here the entire state shuts down so can leave the car in the garage and take my daughter sleigh riding

I don't really have to deal with snow here, but I do have a daily driver that, while not as nice as my Camaro, is still really fun to drive. Plus, my Camaro is always clean, and it's in no way a garage queen.

I have no problem driving mine in the snow. That said I had to buy a truck recently to tow my race car, and my building SUCKS about plowing out the lot so its likely the Camaro will stay parked in the snow this year, just for practical reasons. That said anytime its not snowing it will be out!

Luckily I have a garage for it as well hehe.
