Transmission second thoughts...
Does anyone else wish the would gone with manual instead of automatic or vice versa? I recently perfected driving stick and I wish i would've dobe it earlier because I love my camaro and i love driving stick. Not being able to do them at the same time is somewhat depressing.

Hate the 2nd gear grind. Hoping synthetic fluid will fix.

the ol lady wanted me to get an automatic because she refuses to learn how to drive a stick. I guess it looks like she's stuck driving her Grand Prix while i enjoy the manual!!!

Manuals are fun - but I like the Tapshift in my auto. I really appreciate my auto when I get stuck in traffic.
If my car was purely a weekend car I probably would have gone manual. Can't go wrong with either. |

I wanted a manual, but couldnt find a 2SS with a sunroof in a manual. The 2SS and sunroof were dealbreakers for me. maybe later on down the road if i blow out my auto tranny ill swap in a 6 speed.

I got tired of shifting gears all the time and wanted an auto. It was kind of sluggish but a tune took care of that. So no regrets here.

i like mine automatic, living in rome with crazy traffic most of the times im in first second and back to first, so stick would be a pain, anyways, when i get free road and i can go fast in some places, tap shifts work great for me

Automatic was not even a consideration when I bought my Camaro. My dealer did not have one single stick shift on the lot but he had 20-30 automatics. I told him that if it was not a stick shift, I'm not buying. He ends up locating one close to my spec and it was about 400 miles away. He had it trucked up and I signed the papers when it came in.
I do not regret it for one second. I daily drive this car in traffic about a hour and a half and still wouldn't have it any other way. If you've been driving a stick shift your whole life, it becomes second nature and you do not notice yourself shifting anymore. It's essentially....automatic. |

Love stick and probably would have gotten one but love putting the car in drive and going. I hate stop and go traffic driving a stick. As i've gotten older i appreciate an automatic more. If i want to drive a manual i can always hop on my bike and go at it.

After weathering a hot, midsummer traffic jam in Dallas, I told myself that an auto is more practical and immediately traded my manual when I got back to OKC.
