Just traded a '12 CTS-V for a '14 ZL1 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I actually wanted to have both, but you can only drive one at a time. I am now a Happy Owner of a Crystal Red Tintcoat 6-speed manual 2014 ZL1.

This was not a run of the mill CTS-V, which is bitter sweet. Probably one of the fastest V Sedan in the country still under warranty. And that color!!

I actually had a ZL1 order requistion in '12 with Dimmit Chevy for this same color combo in a manual. I was so anxious to get it, that I went down the road to Dimmitt Cadillac to test ride a V to see how I liked the LSA in an auto. Big mistake. These bastards pulled out an Opulent Blue Metallic V when they saw the Lemans Blue Metallic C6Z that I pulled up in. It was all over after I test rode in the V.

I modded it into a 10 sec Caddy without cracking the valve covers or adding drugs, but never got emotionally tied to the Car. When Dimmitt Chevy called me last week and said they had something for me to see, I got those ZL1 goose bumps again. There it was, the same ZL1 combo I ordered, but in a 2014 with the new front and rear fascia.

Here is the kicker, it had 6,200 miles on it from the original owner that changed his mind and wanted a Silverado Truck???? Pulled the trigger on an incredible deal that I couldn't pass up.

I will miss the Caddy, but very glad to be in My ZL1. Mods are already being planned with Road Race track days in mind. Glad to participate on this Forum. i've been lurking for a while.

Beautiful car. Even though I have a black car I think crystal red is my favorite color. We'll look forward to your comparison.

Love that color. Mine doesn't have a top on it, but it's one of the best colors when you get it in the sun. JMO of course.

Congrats on the new car!
I went from a 2011 CTS-V Coupe Auto to a 2013 ZL1 Manual. I loved the Caddy, but there's something raw and sinister about the ZL1. I enjoy the manual a lot more. The Caddy seats were better (Recaros, miss them!), and the interior nicer. But MyLink blows away the Caddy outdated NAV system. The ZL1 has quickly become the best car I've ever had and I love it! Enjoy yours!

You have no idea how badly this V craving has been for me lately..........well...........maybe you do...

I went to check the new CTS's out today and dayum are they gorgeous!

Shoot...I'd have love to have taken that V off your hands...

What did you let it go for, if you don't mind me asking?
