600 RWHP All Motor

I want to be different, and instead of going supercharger or turbo, I want an all motor build. I'm looking to get 600 RWHP out of the motor. My long tube and CAI are going on at the end of the month, while the Nightfury cam is being installed by the 1st of the year. I should be at 480 RWHP or so then. What else can I do to get 600? Heads? If so, which one? What about boring it out, and going all forged internals? Give me some ideas guys. I know this isn't the cheapest way to get horsepower, but I like being all motor.

You won't get near 600rwhp out of the 6.2L stock bottom end. If you're looking for those numbers I'd pick a different cam. Diet coke made like 627rwhp out of a 429ci big ass cam too.

You are going to need allot more Cubic Inches to get that over the regular LS3. Might need to move to a 416 or 427

Bigger cam that nightfury. Mast heads. Higher Compression ratio. bigger bore or stroke. Most you will likely see without touching the bottom end is 520rwhp. Blueprinting and balancing the bottom end with new internals can get you closer, but I doubt without some more cubes you will actually see your goal. That is unless you want to run 14-15:1 C/r and run some Q.

Your cheapest bet to see your goal is to jump up to a 427. Easy to see 600rwhp then. If you're willing to pay however, you may certainly get close by doing some work on the bottom end. A friend's shop car makes 450whp out of a 4cyl. It's certainly doable, it's just a matter of time, money, and reliability.

Almost have to be LS7 based to do those kinds of numbers....even in the Corvette world it is rare to see a stock short block LS7 make over 600 rwhp on pump fuel.

It isn't impossible but like everyone said it is going to be on the radical side of things.

their is a guy on ls1tech with a ls7 based engine swapped into an 80 monte carlo , he has about 10k in just the heads and is making 620 ish at the wheels.

your gonna need to make a lot of rpm , light valvetrain , big cam . Everything is going to have to be specced out together from the start .

sheet metal intake and many one off parts. It would be much cheaper for you to procharge it or add nitrous.

"your gonna need to make a lot of rpm"

That is just it. You going to have to spin the motor up there in order to get enough cfm of air through the motor so that you can generate the needed power. Will the LS7 intake manifold flow enough air to do it? Will he have to go aftermarket with something like the Holley unit? Probably.

went with TSP's best cam, since I am not made of money , no to the heads onluy about 20 h.p. to gain for way over two thousand with install to port...and I am at 500 rwhp and hoping that someday if the hype works out to reality the Vararam crissram intake will come out and I will get to about 550 rwhp with just my mods. And believe me dude once your at a real 500 rwhp the tires do not like the pavement..... and with torque management deleted and the throttle delay gone...woo hoo, I have to wait to tax time to build the suspension and rear end more..... I do not want to grenade the rear end oh yes and the right tuner the "best" you can find is helpful in the area or even not........ here mine I am "marks Camaro" way down the page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wongs...g/115667950915 And yes if really want all engine you will most likely have go to a beefier 418 with higher race fuel required compression etc or 427 etc....I am in the hey I made 500 + club and may just add spray someday for the rare occasion I want to go that high in h.p. because over 500 h.p. ...who really needs it for a street car? ..for cheap..and still be able to get over 22 mpg on the freeway....... good luck see the mods in my sig. only ones that matter to add power... I have a 13 with dual mode and electric power steering....the cam, intake, headers, tune, then for ten h.p. the vmax and UDP.

So is this engine going into a car? What good is a motor without a chassis for it to go into? I assume that's what you meant by "all motor"?

Yes - and once you have all that rpm, your drive train will need to be "spec'd out" as well to get that power to the wheels without ripping the rear end/drive shaft/axles out. A LOT of high spec high dollar parts.

MAST heads, 2" ARH long tube headers no cats, FAST 102 and a stout solid roller might do it for you.
