So who has a trailer, and if so what kind?

My home track is 20 miles away so currently I just load the trunk with gear and drive to the track. We have some other tracks within 3-4 hours drive that I would like to try out which got me thinking of getting a trailer. I have a motorhome to pull it and that would also get my wife involved as we could make a mini vacation with a track day thrown in for me. For the guys out there that tow their Camaro's to the track, what kind of trailer do you have? I know I want an open trailer for ease of loading and getting out of the car when on the trailer so that put's my budget under $4k I think. Is 18' long enough or do I need a 20 footer?

Can't post a picture from my phone. I have a feather lite. They are all aluminum and you can get the protector for the front of the trailer to keep any debris from hitting your car. Also the trailer fenders are removable. My trailer deck is 17'. I think overall length is about 20'. Works really well with my car.

Looks good Jason. Do you have any issues loading? My 1LE is lowered 1" and with the splitter lip I wonder if it will clear? I love those featherlite trailers but it might be out of my price range. The local dealer has several 2014's in stock at reduced prices but still in the $5700 range.

Been looking at something along these lines too, moving this summer and theres a lot of tracks around but all 3-5 hrs away. Unfortunately my SUV can only really handle 4k lbs due to tranny limitations so been considering a swivel dolly that can handle a RWD vehicle. Unless I can score a sweet deal on an aluminum trailer it will likely be my only option. Not a great option but getting a truck is out of the picture.

I think even with an aluminum trailer you'd be close to 5500 lbs total.

Mine is lowered 1" also, and have the splitter. I use 6' race ramps in front of the trailer ramps. With that set up....no issues.

Yeah, I've exceeded tow ratings in the past but don't like going too far over. I can add better springs, brakes are good as long as the trailer is set up, but aside from a bigger trans cooler there's nothing I can do to beef it up. At least there's no mountains where I'm going. Leaning towards the dolly for weight plus military housing won't let you have a trailer. Gotta pay storage fees in an unsecured lot where things get stolen or vandalized by idiot teenagers.
