Anyone tried the Flowmaster Catback for the SS on the V6?
As the title states, has anyone tried the Flowmaster catback Part #817481 for the SS on the V6. Im guessing it would fit since both are 2.5 at the cats and have the same hanger positions. Just curious in searching for exhaust for my new 1LT. I believe they use a 40 series muffler as well. Just figuring why buy the axleback for 400 when the catback would be 628 shipped and full 3in with an x-pipe. Thanks guys.

I'm interested too!! But I'm not sure if the rest of the exhaust is bent the proper way to fit the same way on a V8 for a V6... Any one know ?

don't recall seeing anybody try a v8 aftermarket on the v6, my guess is it's not gonna sound good, but you never know until you spend the money Let us know, I would suggest a set of long tube headers at the same time to try and fill the big boy shoes with as much sound as possible, or it might sound like a honda engine with a glass pack on it.

Well, it works with the Cherry Bomb V8 system, so why not with the Flowmaster, or any other V8 system, for that matter, as far as fitment goes? Don't know about the sound, though.

Somebody installed the Pypes V8 on theirs as well. I emailed Pypes and asked them what the difference between the V8 and V6 setup was and they said the only difference was the size of the tips, 4.5" versus 4"

I believe Corsa is also interchangable.

The Doug Thorley catback #85423 that I have on my Camaro also says it's for both the 6.2L and 3.6L engines.
Sounds pretty good and loud.

Thanks for the info guys. the only thing is its 3in piping and might be a little over kill, but I have heard the v6 with the 40 series mufflers and it sound pretty decent and thats what they use on the catback. Anyone with 3in exhaust on their v6?

You're going to loose back presure with 3" pipes, which will mean less torque. I was advised by my local HotRod shop owner that it's best to stick with the 2.25" pipes on a V6.

Yea after thinking about it a little the V6 doesnt push enough air to make use for the 3in pipes unless it was FI. I just cant see spending 400 for a pair of mufflers and few feet of pipe with the axleback kits they make.
