Is your ZL1 a daily driver?

My ZL1 has been in my possession 49 days and I've already put 1700 miles on her. I have a Tahoe and a motorcycle to use but I just can't seem to be able to walk past her in the morning.
It seems like many have their ZL1 to look at. How many are actually driving it to work/school/shopping ect... each day?

Not a DD but I take her out 3-5 times a week on my local canyon roads.

I put 1,800 miles on the car last summer! It is my weekend driver in the summer when I have time. It pretty much sits. I only have 2,300 miles on mine. Bought it used with 677 miles.

I ask my girlfriend if she plans on sitting in the back tomorrow so I can take the ZL1 to my mother's house over an hour away. She said, "of course!" Gotta keep this one!

I'm sorry guys... I'm not judging or criticizing... But how in the world does one spend $60,000 on a fantastic machine like that and let it sit in the garage?

I am self employed, Spring, Summer, and Fall are my busiest months and a lot of times I just don't get a chance to run it. Business is priority.

Company vehicle during the week, other cars. I use it for a weekend drive depending on the destination, parking situation etc. I do about 7000 miles a year of weekend drives.

Is it really that hard to figure out?

I've owned both a V6 and a ZL1 so let me explain this....

Most V6 & SS car owners drive their cars more because it's their PRIMARY car for work or DD.

My 13' V6 was a DD when I had it. It was my only personal car for transportation. The wife had the min-van at that time.

I would say 98% of ZL1 & Z/28 owners have their cars as the 3rd or 4th car in their household. Most peeps who can afford a 60k+ car are buying a high performance car as a weekend warrior car only. It doesn't mean we love the car less or don't want to drive it. I sometimes can be on a biz trip out of town for up to a week at a time. When I come home I have 4 young kids...basketball games and soccer games on the weekends. Sometimes the ZL1 just sits a week in the garage because I simply don't have the time to drive her. Doesn't mean I don't love the car and want to drive it and less than anyone else.

Take yesterday for example. My wife and I decided to have a fun day away from the kids while they were at school all day. We drove down to Balboa Island in Newport Beach for the day. We both thought about taking the ZL1....but then the thought of having to part our prized possession in tight parking spots and possibly have the car get scratched or dented up.....we took our other car instead....

I'm sure most high end car owners don't drive as much when they can because they don't want to park in tight spaces where their cars can get damaged.

But with all that said I do try to drive to car shows and track events as much as my schedule permits.

I hope this answers you question.

I hope this clears it up for you
