if you have the matte black insert then this is not correct. You don't want to apply wax or anything to a matte finish.

The matte black wasn't available in 2013, which is what the OP says that he has.

ALL the inserts are CF

You can either have it painted Ashen Gray or have it clear coated with the exposed weave - it's still CF even if its painted though.

All 2013 inserts can be washed and finished the same as the rest of the car - no special treatment required.

The only inserts that need special care are the matte black inserts from 2012 that are no longer available, and there ain't many of them about!

I have the matte black on my 2012 and it needs to be protected from the elements, but I haven't put anything on it yet. I purchased some blackfire spray sealant to use on it. I've removed water spots and a little tree sap using APC and it didn't hurt the finish. As far as washing it, I'd just use the same process as the rest of the car as long and avoid waxes or sealants not approved for matte finishes.

Yes, I know. I was simply trying to say that the matte black insert (which the OP does NOT have) shouldn't be waxed.

Whether you have the exposed CF or the painted insert, you can care for it the same as the rest of the car.

I took a 4" polishing pad to mine this past weekend. Treat it just like the paint.

Look at the bit I've bolded from your post though....it say's that the CF insert is clear coated

Which implies the matte black insert is NOT CF - when it is..

I was just clearing that up.

So the come's right back at you...
