I am a hair over 6'3" and fit althought I wouldn't want to be driving cross country.

Thanks for all of (mostly) good feedback. Everything is stock so I hope to add some minor tweaks here and there. An upgraded exhaust would be nice. If anyone has some specific upgrades they can recommend I am starting my list.

It is pretty unique. I think they made around 25,000 of them total.

Hard top convertible is the bomb.

Massive chrome wheels are starting to pit which is kind of a bummer. I'm not sure if there is much I can do to correct it besides having them redone?

Dunno if someone else already mentioned it, but why not buy a mid-mileage used 2010 or 2011 for somewhere around mid 20s like you did with the SSR.

Surely you can find a 2010 with 30k miles for around the same price as a 2005 SSR...

I was always a fan as well but to be honest I totally forgot about them until a Craigslist search for "convertible" turned one up. I didn't buy that one but it got the wheels in my head turning. These were like low to mid 40's new back in 2004/2005.

Ironically mine came from a Jaguar lot.

You'll love your SSR. I sort of wondered why you didn't just get a V6 Camaro but I can understand when hp is something you don't want to compromise on.
I went in to Appleway Chevrolet sorta thinking about trading my 05 Cobalt in on a SSR. I've had a couple of el Caminos and loved them, and kinda like the SSR look. As it fell out, there was this gorgeous Imperial Blue Metallic Camaro in the way and it went home with me.

Congrats on the new cool ride. It's a great feeling getting a new car! If you ever get the Camaro itch again, I'd recommend trying to buy a lightly used one at a substantial discount. I picked up a silver ice 2010 2SS A6 with 16K miles and in mint condition 3 months ago. I paid $26,200 and I couldn't of been happier. I couldn't comfortably sleep at night either if I had to pay new MSRP on a Camaro. Cars depreciate TOO much, TOO quickly, for me to be able to justify that kind of purchase. I even had buyers remorse after buying this one. Guess I got use to driving $1,000 beaters the past ten years. I beleive my car was around $38K MSRP--or somewhere very close to there. Personally, I only buy used cars for this reason.

Enjoy your new car--it's a beauty!

Sounds like a great deal! Did you buy privately?

Yea even playing Monday morning QB I am still happy where I wound up. At this point the SSR is more unique and the hard top convertible deal is just great, love it.

I wonder if you can get a SS 2011 vert in the upper 20's yet?
