Plus, you'll have more money saved up for the Z by the time it comes out.
Hope that helps.
I don't think so, Can you imagine the dealer mark ups that are going to be on the Z/28. For the first year, I bet the Z28 is going to cost $60k (including dealer markups) from the showroom floor. I hope i am wrong. Also for those who say just add a blower to an SS, you can do that but I think the handleing will not be even remotely as good as a stock 2012 MY Z28. Adding a blower to the SS works great for striaght line acceleration, but also adds even more understeer, since there is more weight on the nose with only 245mm wide tires. JMHO.

funny little fact...

when i was looking up companies that were up for leasing out my 2010 2SS, i happened across a value retention table that was put together by one of the largest leasing companies in the nation (it's a national company that allows credit unions to lease out cars)

the 2010 camaro is actually expected to appreciate a bit in it's 3rd year of existance. it was only 4-5% but when your talking about a near 36k car that's around $1,500.

It's also quite possible that GM could keep the cost just below $40k. Upgrading to the LSA engine (w/supercharger) is about a $6,500 difference (probably a bit less) which still leaves $2-3k for driveline and suspension upgrades. If they can get it done at that price, even $39,999.99 would be very rough on Ford. I'm sure most buyers would option the car into the $40's but it would make some great headlines. If that's not GM's goal the LS9 setup to destroy the GT500 would make more sense IMO and could still be done with some impressive all around upgrades in the $40's, but we'll just have to wait and see what they do.
I think your price range is a bit wishfull thinking. I am expecting a Base price of $49,995. The GT-500 is like 48k.

everyone said the same thing about the ss being super marked up from the get go.

what did i pay? msrp. #3081.

some dealers are more interested in return customers (you better believe i've started the waiting list for the z28 over at power chevy in peoria az) then making a quick buck.

Im thinking 45-50 but who knows We really have no idea what this car is going to be. They could make a hell of a package if they go with performance gains and stripped interior.... Cloth seats non powered etc etc

True, but here in austin, these dealers are the Al capone of Crooks. Some are trying to sell the 2SS for $49k!! One even have the audasity to try and sell a 2SS camaro at $45K and claimed that they "REDUCED" the price.
