Guy said the car wouldn't do over 40 when it ran. I told him on top of everything else, it may have a plugged cat converter.

Definetely a candidate for a small block.

Id pass unless its a solid shell as thats all your really buying. Anything can be swapped in at that point

I've passed on it for now, and apparently the guy looking at it the other day did too.

I'm thinking the owner is in too deep to let it go cheap.

I remember a 3rd gen Firebird when I was a kid that was stripped down with a sheet metal dash 4cyl turbo and a on the squeeze . That thing would spank a lot of cars on the street.
