Question about Flowmaster AT Exhaust
I did some reading up and research on the AT series Flowmasters and I'm ready make my purchase through Maryland Speed. When the exhaust is shipped to me, will it be boxed up where I can fit it in the Camaro and take it a shop to have it installed? Or are the boxes going to be pretty long and I should just have the exhaust shipped directly to the shop?

Two boxes ... Worse case you can take everything out of the boxes and wrap them and leave the boxes at home.

Good idea. Thanks for the replies. I'm really looking forward to the exhaust upgrade. I'm guessing it shouldn't be more than an hour of labor since it's all bolt on.

Did mine in less than two hours on jack stands in my garage. You'll love it!

My Flowmaster AT kit arrived in one huge box that definitely wouldn't fit in the camaro (unless unpacked).
I also installed myself using jackstands; took about 1.5hrs.

IMO the boxes wont fit in the camaro unless you have a vert. put the car on jack stands, disconnect the front at the down pipes.they say to wd-40 the rubber muff hangers. i did not do that it was still a snap. my step son and i had the wholething off and on in less than an hour. spoiled rotten brat easy.

Purchased system from Maryland Speed recently. Great service and price once again Sorry don't have better pix of both boxes the one out of the picture is "flatter and slightly wider. Haven't test fit. Will try this weekend but like black79ta said doubt they will both fit in together.

When I got mines, I took the kit out the box (wrap and all) and put the kit in the trunk. I went to the auto hobby shop on base and used the lift for like 5 buck and took me like 1.5 hours (that included an oil change )

Thanks for the pics and advice. I do own a Honda Pilot as well so I could just make two trips to the shop. One in the Pilot to drop off the boxes and one in the Camaro to have them installed. I guess I could try it myself but I don't really have time :(

Orange2010SS – Which system are you going to purchase? If you know the part number, you can plug into the “Start Search” function on our website www.FlowmasterMufflers.com It will take you to this page http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/searchfmm/search.php You can search by part number or enter your “Vehicle Information” and search for kits available for your Camaro. Every exhaust system includes the box dimensions. This will give you the ability to measure and see if it will fit in your vehicle. Here’s the 817481 American Thunder Cat-Back kit (49”x25”x14”): |
