I thought it could be the angles too. But, I quickly learned this was not the case. Sad, but it's true. GM needs to get their crap together with the CGM mixture.

have you not listened to a word i said about the CGM paint discrepancy?
that's what i went through when trying to paint half my car with the original CGM - we ended up having to make our own close in-house mixture

Sure did, but that didn't make sense to me....and I believe that's not correct.

The ZR1 vettes hood I'm talking about that had the "browner CGM" was from 3 years ago at the Austin car show. They brought in the Camaros and other cars too for the car show. The ZR1 vette was there. The hood was the color of my grill while the rest of the car was CGM. I talked with Scott then and there about the paint mismatch. There was no doubt about it....the paint was different and that's what' I'm experiencing right now.

I highly doubt this has anything to do with Japan and missing an ingredient. I think it has something more to do with maybe a type of paint...it's base...something. but, if this has been happening for years, well before the earthquake that shut down other plants and companies that produce paints, etc, then a missing ingredient can't be it.

oh, i didn't know about the ZR1 or when it was. i do know that's what i'd read from GM on here somewhere about why CGM & JSB went away. if they've got two different mixtures of the same color floating around, that's definitely an internal issue with them.

I had better triple check my newly-painted CGM hood when I get my car out in the sun next time...

I wish I had pix. I think I was told why it happened...the color mis match. But, ...you know? I'm going to have to go back and ask again. I'm curious. I know it's pre earthquake internal issues. just can't remember why. I thought it was the paint manufacturer....the type of paint itself. Hrm...

Oh, you'll only need to take one quick glance to see if it's off. It'll be so quickly recognizable.... Hope it turns out great.

Apparently they knew it was just a matter of time before he had the fascia off and found it
