So I am guessing we will get two keys for those of us that have two? and also will the keys have all the functions as the FOB key does?

Seriously? You know what else is dangerous? The ability to turn the key to off with your hand. Actually the ability to drive is dangerous. We're clearly not mature enough to handle it. Take the cars away.
lol! i just called my friend and had him try it with his vw since he has a switch blade and it turned off

Same here... I really have to go out of my way to turn the key off... and even then I have to be real tool to do it...

So I guess my key stays the way it is, unless they tell me I get replacement and that will be upgrade to push to start and not downgrade to break down my key from the fob... I dont plan to take backpack to fit all the stuff in ..lol...

Exactly

If they go by that logic they will have to start replacing and removing whole lot more then just the key my friend....

GM Recalling over half a million Camaros (Safety Crisis)

Hey guys,

This news was released earlier today and was wondering if anyone knows more information about it? Will we be able to take our previously owned Camaros in to get the problem fixed for free?

Thank you!

It's a free fix. If you want it.

Dumbest recall ever.

I personally dont like push to start cars but thats my own opinion.
And I imagine a lot of times people have a ton of shit hanging on their keychaons and that is what they hit to turn the key

Right now, they can't perform these recalls because they do not have the paperwork, and possibly even parts, to perform the recall. Once they do, if you take your car to a dealer for ANY REASON AT ALL, they are obligated to perform the recall. Does that mean they'll come to your house to search for "unsafe" keys? Hell no. If you have one stashed, there you go. Problem is, the recall may involve replacing the ignition tumbler as well, and then your old keys won't work anyway.

Chatter is useless until we see the official recall. Keep your panties on in the meantime.
If it's a federally mandated recall yes, but if its just a manufacturers recall no...

I'm keeping mine one way or another . If they had done the right thing to begin with and made it push to start ,they wouldn't be having this problem .

They will get my switchblade key when they pry it from my cold, dead hand. Dirty, filthy apes!

I am not interested in doing this unless they change it to a push button start system. I don't need a fob with a separate key in my pocket. I think we should all patition GM to come up with a better (more contemporary) fix. Maybe we should all send an email to Fbodfather to come up with a better fix.
