Dealers not honoring Employee Discount

Went to dealership today to place my order, or at least get a little more information from them about placing the order. The details were going along fine. This dealership was alotted a high number of new Camaros and had only filled 3 of those. This dealership only wanted a $500 deposit, which is better than the $1000 or more that I've heard others having to fork out. Then this bomb was dropped on me. They are not going to honor the Employee/Employee's family price (GMS).
WHAT GIVES?????:mad 0259:

I believe that has always been at the discretion of the dealer. Keep shopping around until you find one.

As far as I'm aware, the dealers don't know because GM hasn't decided.

"Is the Camaro going to be offered at G.M.S pricing?

We'll be making an announcement on our GMS plans closer to the start of production."

ooooo thanks for the the quick reply, lol i swear there were some responses to emails saying that it was only not available on the zr1 and malibu hybir, and that it was up to the dealers, and some have gotten emails saying it has been undecided, lol i hope we find out before we put our orders in, would hate to cancel an option, only to find out later that i can afford it..

Just received a call from the salesman at my dealership. He said that they are taking it to the owner of the dealership. He wanted "my word" that if he can get this thru that I would definately come in and place my order.....I said I am buying this car one way or another....if you want the sale, get me the GMS pricing and show me where to sign.

I have it in writing that my dealer will honor employee and gms supplier discount, whichever is available or better. I suggest all of you to do the same if you placed the order and they verbally promised they would honor it..

My dealer said that GM would probably offer the discounts but it is up to each dealer whether they participate or not. Unfortunately my dealer is not participating but that won't stop me from purchasing. They also asked if I would leave it on display for a while to which I replied if I get a discount you get a display.

I'm a college student and am anxious to see if the camaro will be elligble for the GM&U discount for college students (i suspect it will as all GM cars, including the corvette, in the past have been eligible except the saturn vue hybrid and ZR1) i was wondering what kind of savings i could be looking at as according to the website gmcollegediscount.com it is the same discount as a supplier. HAs anyone ever used the supplier or college discount ?

( i am bearing in mind that this will all come to fruition if i find a dealer that will honor it)a

Has anyone else noticed that you can get the Supplier discount if you are a member of a eligible credit union?
Check it out..
