In the real SW Florida (and Tampa isn't really SW as some may like to claim) like around Naples and Ft. Myers, premium gas is still near 3.65/gallon. Always hated that it was so high. Still better than 4.00, but gas money goes about 18% further around here right now as premium prices here are regular prices in SW Fl. So you have to pay for it. At least it isn't SE Florida near Miami. That place blows all around.
Premium in Ft. Myers is around 3.30. I paid 3.29 recently. Near 1-75 (alico rd exit) is about 3.40. Ft. Myers Beach area is 3.30. Regular is 2.85. Naples is more expensive and Cape Coral is cheaper than all of that listed

Florida is awesome except for the hurricanes, storms, tornadoes, sinkholes, sharks, humidity, heat in summer, bad drivers, horrible traffic in Miami, expensive housing, high insurance cost, Medicare fraud, many taxes, corrupt politicians, low salaries, and all those damn Cubans.

Yea I'll keep my ass in Vegas. It's a crazy place but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Getting back to the lower 70's this weekend here in Louisiana. I have noticed that I am getting better MPG. The cold weather has made my driving become a little less spirited!

I lived in eastern side of Florida for 7 years, and I would not go back, ever.

You also forgot the police state factor, but then again, I have no idea how the other states compare.

I have travelled the world, and decades later, it has still left a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully it's better today, but I'd have to think very optimistically that such would be the case.

Plus, my Porsche's electronics went kaput one by one, due to the ultra high humidity. Yes, I lived near the beach.

Wear a nice suit like we used to see on Miami Vice circa 1985? LOL!!
I_dont_think_so. Always boggled my mind how they pulled that one off.

I concur with the above statement.

I'd also consider Alaska if it wasn't for the wind chill factor.

Full respect for independent, out of the box thinker types in that part of the world. A know a few there, and they couldn't care less for the cold. I now understand why .

Of course I'd consider certain parts of CA as well.

I have a place at an undisclosed location in the Mediterranean (cigarette), that Sledge and I would like to permanently go settle to one day.

NY is just my latest stop on a journey from WV to VA to MI then here. After 20+ years the weather doesn't bother me as bad but I'll still never be a goddamnyankee! (Notice that's all one word). On the brighter side, just as I'm getting bored with the Camaro for the season, I put it away, and ever spring it's like getting a brand new car.

I take that as a compliment (here a Yankee is a person who lives north of the Mason Dixon, and a goddamnyankee is one that moves south and never goes back), I grew up in Ithaca NY, love the south and would never go back except for Watkins Glen and family.
